LÖWEN ENTERTAINMENT looks back on a tradition spanning over 60 years. In 1949, the partners Nack , Schulze and Menke founded the company NSM in Braunschweig. The lion in Braunschweig's city coat of arms was the inspiration for the company logo. To this day, the lion is the company's trademark.

In the 80s, LÖWEN ENTERTAINMENT made electronic darts popular in Germany and became the global market leader in this segment.

The company has separated itself from other historically grown business areas such as NSM MUSIC (music boxes), NSM Jukebox (digital archiving systems), EMT (children's entertainment devices) and LÖWEN PLAY (arcade chain) in order to take market developments into account and to concentrate entirely on its core competencies in the money winning game industry. Today, LÖWEN ENTERTAINMENT is consistently focused on this core business.

With the takeover by the NOVOMATIC Group in autumn 2003, development in this area received a major boost. The financial strength and international technological leadership of the NOVOMATIC Group in synergy with LÖWEN ENTERTAINMENT enable new gaming offerings on an innovative technical basis. Since 2006, LÖWEN ENTERTAINMENT with its NOVO brand family has been the undisputed market leader for so-called multigamers, high-performance screen devices. Today, LÖWEN ENTERTAINMENT, as the parent company, forms the LÖWEN Group together with four subsidiaries. In addition to LÖWEN ENTERTAINMENT, Crown Technologies is another manufacturer that belongs to the group of companies, as well as the arcade chains EXTRA Games, BPA and Admiral Play.
